Johannesburg - Out of 17 witnesses, Sindisiwe Manqele was the only one who could give the court clear details of what happened on the night Nkululeko 'Flabba' Habedi was killed, Judge Solly Sithole said on Wednesday.

"She is the only person who knows what happened in that room," Sithole told the Randburg Magistrate's Court as he delivered his judgment.

After going through all of Manqele's testimony, Sithole said he would later examine aspects that came up during her cross-examination.

Manqele sat in the dock dressed in a white shirt and wearing a headscarf. She has worn headscarves throughout the trial in an attempt to hide her face from the media.

For the very first time, Habedi's daughter, Lesego, also attended the proceedings. Dressed in her school uniform, she sat next to Habedi's mother and brother in the second row of the court gallery.

The family softly expressed their disapproval of Manqele's testimony as Sithole went through it.

Also in the gallery was Flabba's colleague, Shugasmax. The pair were part of the popular hip hop group, Skwatta Kamp.

Habedi was fatally stabbed by his girlfriend, Manqele, at his home in Alexandra in March this year.

Manqele has pleaded not guilty, alleging she acted in self-defence. Under cross-examination, she told the court she stabbed him on purpose because she wanted to get away from him.

She said the mistake was in killing him.
