Parliament to brief media on Public Protector search

Parliament - ANC MP Makhosi Khoza, the chairperson of the ad hoc committee established to nominate the next Public Protector, will on Wednesday brief the media on progress it had made.   

The committee had until August 31 to report back to the National Assembly. It was made up of six ANC members, two DA, one EFF, and two from other parties.

Members of the public had until Friday to make nominations.

Thuli Madonsela’s seven-year term of office ends in October. Candidates would be shortlisted in July, and interviews held after the August 3 local government elections.
