Pietermaritzburg - Zoe Modiga, who hails from Pietermaritzburg, is one of the final eight singers in line to become the very first “Voice of SA”.

Modiga, who grew up in Imbali, blew the audience and coaches away last weekend with Katy Perry’s Fireworks.

“I’m a big fan — you are on form every time. You always give interesting performances … Thank you for always arriving,” said coach Bobby van Jaarsveld about her performance last weekend.

Modiga was saved weekly by her coach Lira, and this week she faces the audience’s votes for the first time.

“I feel like Zoë is someone we can be proud of as South Africa, because she’s an artist we can take to the world. You could see a performance like this in the Grammys — anywhere,” said Lira.

The live finale will be simulcast at 5 pm on Sunday, on M-Net (DStv channel 101) and M-Net City (DStv channel 115), which is available on DStv Compact.

Universal Music SA are releasing two The Voice SA albums. This week’s album will feature 13 songs from the Top 13, and next week will feature tracks from the talent performing in the finale.

• The voting public will decide which talent wins the title. Voting lines for the eight remaining singers – two from each coach – will close tonight at 10 pm.

To vote for Modiga, SMS her unique voting number, which is 32, to 33692. You can also vote on the The Voice SA App at a cost of R1,50 per vote, on the official website or on Wechat at ID Mnettv.
