Johannesburg - Police are urging anyone with information to come forward in the case of a woman who is believed to have been thrown off a building in central Johannesburg.

In a statement on Tuesday, police said Belinda Maseko was apparently found on the street by passers-by in central Johannesburg.

She is believed to have been thrown from the Remantis Building.

Warrant officer Xoli Mbele said she was found on June 14.

"They found the victim who was certified dead by the paramedic. It is alleged that she was thrown from the eighth floor.

"The motive for the murder is not yet known," said Mbele.

Maseko is believed to have been in town at the time to catch a taxi home after having come from work in Kempton Park.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact the investigating detective, Constable Hlaselo Moloantoa, on 078 681 2997.
