Durban – Residents of Eshowe, northern KwaZulu-Natal, went on a service delivery protest on Monday morning, police said.

They blockaded the town’s busiest street with burning tyres and concrete rubbish bins, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said.

Public order police from Empangeni and Eshowe police were monitoring the situation.

No arrests had been made yet.
