Protesting Fort Hare students set fire to campus building - reports

Cape Town – Eastern Cape police are out in full force at the University of Fort Hare, after protesting students set fire to a building and a tent on campus, according to reports.

ENCA reported that the protest was about the Centenary Celebrations due to take place on Friday, May 20.

Power987 FM tweeted that students have also destroyed a tent where the celebrations were to take place.

“Students upset after talks collapsed with management. They went in with 16 demands, say only some were met,” Power987 FM tweeted.
