Pupil killed in Cape Town accident

Cape Town – A pupil died and 11 people were injured when a taxi transporting matriculants from a dance overturned in Claremont, Cape Town, paramedics said on Sunday.

The taxi overturned on the M3 near Paradise Road in the early hours of the morning, said ER24 spokesperson, Chitra Bodasing.

The taxi was found on its roof and patients were scattered across the scene.

One “young person” sustained fatal injuries while 11 suffered moderate to critical injuries, Bodasing said.

The cause of the accident was unknown.
