Durban – Investigators are probing a truck crash that killed two people in Pietermaritzburg, the Road Traffic Management Corporation said on Tuesday.

They were working at the accident scene with police, disaster management and the fire department to establish the cause of the collision, said spokesperson, Simon Zwane.

On Monday, a truck carrying ethanol lost control on the N3 near Peter Place, collided with several construction vehicles and caught fire. Two other people were critically injured.

The N3 southbound in Town Hill was closed. Light motor vehicles were being diverted at the Midmar interchange to join the N3 toll route at Pietermaritzburg.
