Saturday's weather: Cold and rainy weekend ahead for Cape Town, cool across the country

More rainfall can be expected for the south western parts of the Western Cape, ahead of another cold front this weekend.

Temperatures are expected to be cold in the extreme west, while the rest of the country will be cool, according to the South African Weather Service.

The weather in your region

Morning fog patches are expected on the Highveld of Gauteng. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool. The expected UVB sunburn index will be high.

Mpumalanga will be partly cloudy in the east, with morning fog in places over the Highveld. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool, but warm over the Lowveld.

It will be partly cloudy in the eastern parts of Limpopo, with morning fog in places along the escarpment. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool.

The North West will be fine and cool.

Morning fog patches are expected in the eastern parts of the Free State. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool. It will be windy in the extreme east and south.

The Northern Cape will be have fog along the coast and early morning fog over the southern high ground. Otherwise, it will be fine and cold. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate.

Morning fog is expected in places along the West Coast of the Western Cape. Otherwise, it will be cloudy to partly cloudy and cold, with isolated to scattered afternoon showers and rain. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh. The expected UVB sunburn index will be low.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be fine and cool to cold. It will become cloudy to partly cloudy. Isolated showers and rain are expected along the coast. The wind along the coast will be fresh.

It will be partly cloudy with morning mist/fog patches over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal at first. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm, but cool in the south-west. The wind along the coast will be gentle. The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
