Saturday's weather: Cool coastal conditions, rain in some parts

It is expected to be cool along the coastal regions on Saturday and wet conditions are expected along parts of the East Coast and southern coastline.

High seas with wave heights of 6 to 7 metres are expected in places between Plettenberg Bay and East London, subsiding from the afternoon, according to the South African Weather Service.

The weather in your region

It will be fine and warm in Gauteng. The expected UVB sunburn index will be very high.

Mpumalanga will be fine and warm but hot in the Lowveld. It will become cloudy on the south-eastern Highveld in the evening (around Piet Retief and Ermelo areas) spreading along the escarpment overnight.

It will be fine and warm to hot in Limpopo.

The North West is expected to be fine and warm.

It will be fine and warm in the Free State, but cool in the eastern parts.

The Northern Cape is expected to be fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong.

It will be cloudy along the south coast of the Western Cape. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy, becoming fine and cool, but warm in places over the west coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh. The expected UVB sunburn index will be moderate.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be cloudy and cool. Isolated showers and rain are expected in places south of the escarpment. The wind along the coast will be fresh.

Morning fog is expected over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm but cool in the south. It will become cloudy from the southeast by late afternoon. Isolated showers are expected, but scattered along the coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate. The expected UVB sunburn index will be moderate.
