Saturday's weather: Rain expected in some parts of SA

Rainfall is expected in some parts of SA on Saturday while temperatures along the coast is expected to be warm to hot.

Meanwhile, extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the north-western parts of the Northern Cape, according to information provided by the South African Weather Service.

The weather in your region

Gauteng will be partly cloudy at first, otherwise fine and warm. The expected UVB sunburn index will be high.

It will be cloudy in the Lowveld of Mpumalanga with morning fog patches and drizzle over the escarpment. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm but hot in the Lowveld.

Limpopo will be cloudy in the morning at first. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm to hot.

It will be fine and hot in the North West, becoming partly cloudy in the west and central parts.

It will be partly cloudy in the southern parts of the Free State, spreading to the east by the afternoon. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm, but hot in the northwest with isolated thundershowers in the extreme east.

Morning fog patches are expected along the escarpment of the Northern Cape where it will cool. Otherwise, it will be fine and hot but very hot in places in the northeast. It will become partly cloudy in the southeast by the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly.

Fog patches are expected along the west coast of the Western Cape at first. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm. It will be very hot over the western parts but partly cloudy over the south coast. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-easterly to easterly along the south coast, otherwise it will be a light westerly to north-westerly. The expected UVB sunburn index will be extreme.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be cloudy in the south and along the coast in the morning. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm, with isolated thunderstorms in the northeast by the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be light and variable in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal is expected to be partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers in the west and south. The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly to north-easterly, freshening in the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn index will be high.
