Security guard shot dead at Tzaneen factory

Tzaneen – A manhunt is underway for the killers of a security guard at an atchar factory outside Tzaneen, Limpopo police said on Thursday.

Security guards went to the Morokolotsi Atchar factory on the R36 outside the town on Wednesday evening, after its alarm went off, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said.

After gunshots were heard inside the factory, three armed men ran out of the building, firing at the security guards. Three men fled the scene. 

When police arrived, they found a 60-year-old security guard at the factory had been killed.

The three men had tried to force open a safe in an attempt to steal money, but failed.
