Franziska Blöchliger's bereft father Florian describes his daughter as a "normal coloured girl from the new South Africa" who reflected the political changes in the country. Florian is Swiss and his wife Shireen is South African. WATCH

Cape Town - The father of a teenager murdered in Tokai Forest has described his daughter as being a "normal coloured girl", who was beautiful both inside and out.

"My wife is obviously not white. I am white. It reflects the new nation of South Africa, how the whole world is changing," Florian Blöchliger said of his daughter Franziska in a sit-down interview with News24Live on Wednesday night.

He said his daughter was totally innocent and they were struggling to comprehend why someone killed her on Monday.

"She was like a flower... she was my soul mate. She was really another mother for her sister. They were very close. She was just a beauty."

Showing her tidy bedroom, he added that the 16-year-old was not a "normal" teen who partied. Rather, she was very athletic and family orientated.

The father, from Switzerland, was forced to look at his daughter's body at the mortuary earlier in the week.

"I don’t wish any person in this entire life to see what I saw... They so brutally beat my daughter that somebody who did that needs to go behind bars."

They were awaiting post-mortem results.

The forensic investigator they had hired, Dr David Klatzow, said he was co-operating with the police and hoping to get information from them on Thursday.

"We are meeting later today and deciding what to do and take it from there."

With the help of friends and companies, they had upped their reward to R100 000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Three men, aged 22 to 27, were expected to appear in Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Friday in connection with the murder, according to Western Cape police.
