Johannesburg - Six men were arrested in Sophiatown, Johannesburg on Monday after being found with drugs worth an estimated R50 000, police said.

Lieutenant Kay Makubela said the suspects were allegedly in possession of tik and methcathinone (cat).

The drugs were found by members of the K9 unit who were on a routine patrol.

"As they were patrolling they received information about the drugs. On searching a resident, police discovered the drugs," Makubele said.

The suspects, aged between 17 and 60, are expected to appear in the Sophiatown Magistrate's Court soon.
