Johannesburg – A 34-year-old man who was found in possession of a stolen car received a bad wake up call when police arrested him after he was found sleeping in the vehicle. Gauteng police spokesperson Solomon Sibiya said they established that the vehicle, spotted in the Chamdor industrial area, Kagiso, was reported stolen in Katlehong a few weeks back. The suspect was found inside the vehicle when police approached it on Friday, Sibiya said. The man appeared in the Kagiso Magistrate's Court near Krugersdorp on the same day. “When the suspect was woken up by the police, he seemed confused and could not explain how he ended up sleeping in the car. He could also not prove ownership thereof,” he said. The man was charged with the unlawful possession of a reported stolen vehicle. The suspect remains in custody for further investigation. Katlehong is roughly 60km from Kagiso.
