Cape Town – Superman had to be airlifted off Table Mountain on Saturday, paramedics said.

This after a man in his late forties, dressed as the superhero Superman, could not finish a fun run due to extreme exhaustion.

ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said the man was participating in a fun run which started in the city and went up the mountain.

His wife called for help when he could not finish due to exhaustion.

“ER24 paramedics, dressed in red and blue just like the superhero, along with the assistance of the park rangers at Table Mountain started searching for the man.

“It wasn't long before the man was found and he was airlifted down the mountain by Skymed.”

'Superman' was then treated and transported to hospital.
