Durban - A Swazi man accused of human trafficking, abduction and rape will appear in the Durban Regional Court on Friday.

Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo said that officers arrested the 40-year-old after following up on information about his whereabouts.

The man allegedly abducted three children aged 5, 7 and 13 in Swaziland last year, said Mohlongo.

A case was opened at Mbabane and the docket was handled by Interpol.

Mhlongo said while the suspect was in South Africa he allegedly repeatedly raped and impregnated the 13-year-old girl.

The children were rescued last week and put in a place of safety.

He said arrangements to reunite them with their biological mother were in progress.
