Johannesburg - The minibus taxi involved in a horrific Gauteng crash caught alight on Sunday in an accident that has left at least 19 dead and scores injured.

Paramedics said the collision between the taxi and a truck happened on the R28 towards Verneeniging.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said some of the patients had been ejected from the vehicles.

Paramedics were currently attending to the scene.

The service’s helicopter had also being deployed.
