George - Three men were killed after the bakkie they were travelling in plunged down a cliff near Voelklip in Herolds Bay, Western Cape, paramedics said on Monday.

The bakkie fell about 100m resting against some large rocks, ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

"Using rope rescue equipment, rescue workers and paramedics made their way down the cliff to the bakkie.

"Paramedics found three lifeless bodies of the male patients lying trapped inside the vehicle," he said.

All three were declared dead on the scene.

The cause of the accident was not known.
