Unfair to cross-examine Oscar's psychologist on technicalities - defence lawyer

We spoke to respected defence attorney Ulrich Roux at the conclusion of day one of Oscar Pistorius' sentencing, for his interpretation of proceedings. Watch. WATCH

Pretoria – Oscar Pistorius walked into court GD of the High Court in Pretoria shortly after 09:00 on Tuesday morning, for the second day of his sentencing proceedings.

He carried a black laptop case and made his way past Reeva Steenkamp’s cousin Kim Martin and her partner who were sitting and taking in the front row of the public gallery.

Just as he had passed them, he stopped, turned to look at them and muttered a weak “hello”.

He looked tired and didn’t smile. They ignored him and continued looking at one another. Pistorius made his way into the dock to talk with a member of his legal team.

The court is hearing arguments in aggravation and mitigation of sentencing after the Supreme Court of Appeal overturned his sentence of culpable homicide for killing Reeva Steenkamp.

It replaced it with a verdict of murder and sent the matter back to Judge Thokozile Masipa to determine an appropriate sentence.
