NPA will appeal Oscar Pistorius sentencing

The National Prosecuting Authority will appeal Oscar Pistorius's six-year jail sentence, it was announced on Thursday.
"The NPA has decided to file an application for leave to appeal," it said in a statement.
It said the sentence was "shockingly too lenient".

Repo rate unchanged at 7%

SA Reserve Bank governor Lesetja Kganyago has announced that the Monetary Policy Committee has decided to keep the repo rate unchanged at 7%.

Viacom Africa will censor gay dads in Nickelodeon TV series

Viacom Africa is "reassuring" DStv subscribers in South Africa and the rest of Africa that it will be censoring the gay parents out of its animated Nickelodeon series, The Loud House, on its DStv channel. According to Viacom, showing gay people on Nickelodeon is not appropriate for its Africa audience.
