Tomorrow's weather: Rain continues in the east, moderate temperatures across most of SA

Severe thunderstorms are expected over the extreme north-eastern parts of the Eastern Cape and the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Northern Cape, the western parts of the North West and the Free State, and the Laingsburg Local Municipality of the Western Cape.

Heat wave conditions are expected over the western and central parts of both the Free State and North West and the extreme eastern parts of the Northern Cape until at least Friday.

The temperature along the coast is expected to be warm.

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and hot, but warm over the Highveld with isolated afternoon thundershowers.

Mpumalanga will be partly cloudy and cool to warm, but hot in the Lowveld, with isolated afternoon thunderstorms.

It will be partly cloudy and warm in Limpopo, with isolated thunderstorms from the afternoon.

The North West will be fine and warm to hot, but very hot in places in the west, becoming partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers in the east.

The Free State will be cloudy in the extreme northeast at first with morning fog patches. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers in the north and northeast. It will be very hot in places in the west.

Morning fog is expected along the south coast of the Northern Cape where it will be warm. Otherwise, it will be fine and hot, but very hot to extremely hot in the northeast.

The Western Cape is expected to be cloudy with fog patches along the west and south-west coast at first. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm to hot in places over the eastern interior. It will become cloudy along the west and south-west coast with light drizzle by late evening.

The Eastern Cape will be cloudy in the southeast at first. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and hot but warm along the coast. Isolated thunderstorms are expected along the escarpment.

Morning fog is expected over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal. Isolated morning showers are expected in the extreme east. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm, but hot in places in the north.
