Mbombela - "My beautiful children, Christian and Aldin, were killed along with their father in a car crash on their way back from Mozambique."That's how Itha Kieser, production editor at Wild&Jag/Game&Hunt magazine, announced the tragic news in a post on Facebook, Netwerk24 reported on Wednesday. Christian, 15, Aldin, 12, and Itha's estranged husband, Heinrich, died on impact when their sport utility vehicle (SUV) crashed head-on into a truck on the N4, between Malelane and Hectorspruit on Tuesday afternoon."We are still in shock," said her brother, Herman Pienaar.Gillian Venter, 47, and her son Jordan, 15, a Grade 9 pupil at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch, were on their way back with Heinrich after a holiday in Mozambique. Both are in Intensive Care in a hospital in Mbombela.Jordan Venter and his mother Gillian are both in hospital. (Facebook, Netwerk24)Venter, who hails from Pretoria, was in a relationship with Heinrich."She has a ruptured liver, internal bleeding and her shoulder, arm, all her ribs and ankle were broken in the accident," her ex-husband, Pieter Venter, 53, said."Fortunately, Jordan is out of danger, but has a cracked skull and pelvis and a punctured lung. He is on a lot of pain medication, but the poor child must have seen everything happen. He earlier softly told someone: 'Hein is dead'."Pieter, who stayed on good terms with Gillian, on Wednesday flew from George to be with her and his son. Christian was a Grade 9 pupil at Pretoria Boys High and Aldin was in Grade 7 at Waterkloof Primary. Pienaar says the brothers had been good sportsmen."Christian had national colours in golf and water polo and would've given any man a go on the golf course. Aldin was a good soccer player and played rugby for Harlequins Club's under-13s.Both were also academically strong and enjoyed going on hunting expeditions with their dad.A memorial service for Christian and Aldin is provisionally set to be held at Pretoria Boys High next week Friday.Pienaar said they were waiting for Heinrich’s overseas relatives before finalising the arrangements.According to Pienaar, Gillian and Heinrich were very happy. He also has a 19-year-old daughter, Olivia, who works in Spain. "This is an enormous tragedy and I can just thank God that Gillian and Jordan survived."Joseph Mabuza, a spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety in Mpumalanga, said the truck driver had tried to avoid a collision with a car in front of him. He swerved to the right and smashed into Kiesers' SUV.
