2016-05-26 18:16

Cape Town - Three carriages were destroyed in a suspected arson attack at the Muldersvlei station on Thursday afternoon.

Metrorail spokesperson Riana Scott said buses were being arranged for commuters stranded after the train line was closed.

The blaze was extinguished by 15:20, however it would remain out of operation until technicians had assessed and repaired the damage.

Scott could not confirm that the blaze was started maliciously, but conceded it appeared to be arson.
