Johannesburg - A truck accident on the N3 north near Bedfordview has caused traffic chaos on one of the city’s busiest arterial routes on Thursday morning.

- Are you affected? Send us your eyewitness accounts and photos.

Ekhurleni Metro Police Department spokesperson George Mokheseng said an articulated vehicle had overturned in the early hours of the morning.

“The truck overturned underneath the flyover in Bedfordview and is now blocking the road. The driver sustained light injuries but declined to be taken to hospital,” he said.

Mokheseng said that implications for motorists had been far reaching, despite the efforts of police to divert traffic around the incident site.

“We are currently diverting traffic via the Gilooly’s Interchange but things are very back up everywhere because of this.”

He said that the best option for drivers was to divert themselves at the Van Buuren exit and manoeuvre around the accident scene inside Bedfordview.
