Tuesday's weather: Partly cloudy and warm

It will be a partly cloudy but warm day across South Africa on Tuesday, while the SA Weather Service has warned of extremely high fire danger conditions over the central and eastern parts of the Northern Cape, western and central parts of the Free State and extreme western parts of the North West as well as northern interior of the Eastern Cape.

Snapshot of the weather in your region:  

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and thundershowers. The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Mpumalanga will be partly cloudy and warm to hot with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the Lowveld.

Limpopo is expected to be partly cloudy and cool to warm but hot in the western Bushveld. Isolated afternoon thundershowers are expected but scattered in the south.

The North West will be partly cloudy and hot to very hot, with isolated thundershowers except in the west. Scattered thundershowers are possible in the east.

The Free State will be cloudy in the extreme east at first, otherwise fine and warm to hot but partly cloudy with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the north and north-east.

The Northern Cape will be fine and warm to hot but cool over the southern interior. It will become partly cloudy in the east from the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly.

The Western Cape can expect to be partly cloudy along the south and south-western coastal areas where it will be cool, otherwise fine and warm. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly to southerly. The expected UVB sunburn index is high

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and warm but cool along the coast. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly becoming fresh to strong south-westerly from late morning, but moderate west of Cape St Francis. The eastern half of the province will see morning fog patches south of the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, but strong south of East London in the afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal will experience morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm to hot in the north. Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers are expected but scattered in the north. The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly becoming moderate to fresh south-westerly from the south by late morning spreading to the north by afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn index is high.
