Two men were left critically injured after they were crushed by heavy machinery at a company on Essex Road in Devland, south of Johannesburg on Friday.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, both of the men sustained serious injuries to their chests, pelvis and legs.

“On assessment, paramedics found that two men had sustained critical injuries after the machinery they were carrying fell on top of them,” Meiring said in a statement.

Advanced life support interventions were provided to the men when paramedics treated them.

The men had to be transported to hospital for urgent treatment.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
