Two people burn to death in Newcastle crash

Newcastle - Two people burnt to death in a bakkie after a crash on the R34 outside Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, paramedics said.

The bakkie was found burning, lying on its roof on the side of the road, ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.


Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters found the two occupants. They could not be identified.

The bakkie had been travelling from Memel towards Newcastle.

The accident was being investigated.
