Durban – Two people were seriously injured in an accident near the Umhlanga off ramp in Durban, paramedics said on Saturday.

The two, a man and a woman, were travelling towards Durban when the car veered off the road and overturned several times at 01:00 on Saturday.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the vehicle was found crumpled in the breakdown lane of the M4.

“Accident debris was found spread over a large area. After medics examined the injured they found that a man and a woman had sustained serious injuries,” he said.

The injured were stabilised before they were taken to hospital.
