Durban – Two women were shot in Pinetown in the early hours of Saturday morning, KwaZulu-Natal police have confirmed.

One was hit in the neck and the other in the leg in Dales Avenue shortly after midnight.

Both were taken to hospital, spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said.

“It is alleged that at about 00:10 the two victims were shot by two unknown suspects who came from a metered taxi. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage,” he said.

No arrests have been made.

ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said paramedics found the two women lying metres apart.

They are aged 29 and 21.

“Both women were treated and stabilised on the scene before being taken to hospital,” he said.
