Johannesburg - Ekurhuleni East College students on the Daveyton campus continued to protest on Tuesday, burning tyres in front of the institution's gates, police said.

Officer Amukelani Makhubela said the students were protesting over insufficient funding for their studies. They were also demanding that the college get them jobs, he said. 

Makhubela said police were monitoring the situation.

The protest started on Monday.
