The Copper Chimney at the Chatsworth Centre, near Durban, was stormed and robbed by four men as the restaurant was closing up on Sunday night, East Coast Radio (ECR) reported.

The men reportedly demanded cash and cellphones from employees.

Mohammed Malik, the duty manager at the time of the attack, reportedly said employees were instructed to lie face-down on the floor for several minutes while the robbers made their getaway.

Malik said he was having trouble sleeping at night following the attack.

"There were four of them [carrying guns]. They started to push us back inside and told us - to give them money. They hit us, demanding more money. We told we don't have money. It was the [worst] experience in my life," Malik told ECR.

Additional security was reportedly being implemented and police were investigating.

A scuffle, screams, and police officers retreating with firearms in hand.

At the weekend, visuals from a video were posted online of an alleged fight between police and a gang in Parow, Cape Town, on Saturday, News24 reported.

A woman hiding in one of the shops recorded the scenes on her phone. "Stop it, stop it!" she is heard shouting.

Moments later, chaos ensues and more screaming is heard.

Western Cape police said they had been conducting an operation in the area, but would not be divulging details.

"No shots were fired during the operation. The people in the area threw stones at SAPS members," Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said.

She added that no injuries had been reported and that no arrests had been made.

Another video is doing the rounds on social media showing an armed robbery at a local store in Jeppe, central Johannesburg, during which two people were shot.

A gang of men are seen entering the store on October 26 and taking money from the cash register. One suspect can be seen wearing a balaclava and carrying what looks like a handgun.

One of the victims is seen entering the store a few minutes after the gang and getting into a scuffle with one of the robbers. He is subsequently shot.

Police have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.
