Pretoria – A 31-year-old armed man was arrested on Tuesday morning after he ran into a school in Laudium following a police chase, Gauteng police said.

The man was arrested after police received information from the community about three "suspicious" men roaming the streets, said police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.

"Suspects were spotted at Jet Street and when they saw the police they ran into different directions," he said.

"One of the suspects was arrested after he ran into a Muslim school in Joel Street and a shotgun was recovered." Two other suspects are still at large.

The man was expected to appear in the Atteridgeville Magistrate's Court soon.
