Weather Update: Cool and dry conditions for most of SA

Warm temperatures are expected along the northern to the western parts of the country, as well as the central parts of the Western Cape, while the rest of the country will enjoy cooler temperatures on Saturday.

Rain

Isolated showers are expected along the southeastern parts of Limpopo, central to the north and southeastern parts of Mpumalanga, and central to northeastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Temperatures

Minimum temperatures will be mild across the country, with cooler conditions in the southern part of the Western Cape and the central interior.

The coldest place in South Africa will be Sutherland in the Northern Cape, dropping to a freezing 0°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to increase along the northern border, down to the northern parts of Gauteng, the Northern Cape and the northwestern and central parts of the Western Cape. Warm conditions are also predicted for the East Coast.

The central interior and coastline remain cool.

The hottest places in South Africa will be Skukuza and Vredendal with a high of 29°C.

Pretoria will experience a maximum of 25°C, while Johannesburg will have a high of 23°C. Bloemfontein will see a high of 23°C.

Along the coastal regions, Cape Town will reach 23°C, Port Elizabeth 24°C and Durban will see a maximum of 25°C.
