Christian charismatic revival evangelist Angus Buchan has led masses of people in prayer for various issues, including much-needed rain for Cape Town. WATCH

A warning has been issued for extremely high fire danger conditions over the central parts of the Northern Cape, the north western parts of the Eastern Cape and and the Western Cape except along the west and south west coasts, as well as the adjacent interior.


Heavy rain leading to localised flooding can be expected over the Cape Metropole, Cape Winelands and western parts of the Overberg District from Monday evening into Tuesday morning.

The remainder of the country will remain dry.


Minimum temperatures will be cooler along the central interior while mild to moderate temperatures are expected on the east coast with the remainder of the country being warm.

The coldest place in South Africa will be Sutherland in the Northern Cape, dropping to 1°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to warm across most of the country, including the northern parts into the west coast as well as the rest of the western parts of the country. Cool conditions are expected in the central interior with hot temperatures expected along coastal regions of the Garden Route and Eastern Cape's Port Elizabeth. 

The hottest places in South Africa will be Riversdale in the Western Cape reaching a high of 33°C.

Pretoria will experience a maximum of 28°C, while Johannesburg will have a high of 27°C. Bloemfontein will see a high of 25°C.

Along the coastal regions, Cape Town will reach 22°C, Port Elizabeth 26°C and Durban will see a maximum of 28°C.
