Weather Update: Most of SA gets warmer but things heat up in the north

Warm weather continues for most of SA throughout the week and extremely hot weather conditions are expected over the north on Wednesday.


Isolated showers are expected along the East Coast and adjacent interior, and light rain is expected in the western parts of the Western Cape in the morning.


Minimum temperatures are expected to be cool across the central interior of the country.

Moderate conditions have been predicted for the West Coast, the coastline and adjacent interior, as well as over the Highveld region.

Warmer morning conditions are expected along the East Coast, the northern border and adjacent interior.

Sutherland in the Northern Cape is expected to be one of the coldest regions, dropping to 4°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to remain cool along the West Coast, the coastline, as well as the Wild Coast.

Temperatures are expected to increase across the central interior and the Highveld region, while hot to very hot conditions are expected in the north.

A few places in the north are expected to reach a high of 38°C.

Pretoria is expected to reach a high of 32°C, while Johannesburg is expected to reach a high of 30°C and Bloemfontein a high of 28°C.

Cape Town is expected to reach a high of 18°C, while Port Elizabeth is expected to reach a high of 21°C and Durban a high of 23°C.
