Showers and thundershowers continue in the east and along the south coast on Wednesday.


Severe thunderstorms are expected in places along the escarpment and Lowveld of Mpumalanga as well the south-eastern parts of Limpopo.


Scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers are expected in the Lowveld region in Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

Isolated showers and rain can be expected along the south coast of the Western Cape, the eastern half of the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.


Minimum temperatures are expected to be cool to cold across most of the country, with warm conditions along the northern border and adjacent interior as well as the extreme eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Sutherland in the Northern Cape is expected to be one of the coldest places, dropping to 0°C.

Maximum temperatures remain cool along the southern parts of the country. Warm to hot weather can be experienced along the northern half of the country with extremely hot weather along the northern border and adjacent interior.

Phalaborwa in Limpopo is expected to be one of the hottest places, with a high of 41°C.

In Gauteng, Pretoria will reach a high of 34°C while Johannesburg will reach a high of 32°C.

Bloemfontein will reach a high of 28°C.

Along the coast, Cape Town is expected to reach a high of 22°C, while Port Elizabeth is expected to reach a high of 19°C and Durban a high of 21°C.
