Weather update: Rain for north-western parts of SA

Limpopo, Mpumalanga and parts of KwaZulu-Natal can expect isolated thundershowers on Thursday while the rest of the country remains dry.


Minimum temperatures are expected to be cold and cool across most parts of the country, while the northern border will be warm.

Sutherland in the Northern Cape will be one of the coldest places, dropping to 4°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to be cool across the western part of the country, warm in the north-western parts, the central interior, the coastline and the West Coast.

Hot weather is predicted for most parts of the Northern Cape.

Lephalale is Limpopo, Upington in the Northern Cape and Vredendal in the Western Cape are expected to be some of the hottest places, with an expected maximum temperature of 33°C.

In Gauteng, Pretoria will reach a high of 28°C, while Johannesburg will hit 27°C.

Bloemfontein is expected to reach a high of 25°C.

Along the coast, Cape Town is expected to reach a high of 26°C, while Port Elizabeth will reach 22°C and Durban 21°C.
