Weather Update: Stormy weather continues in north, east of SA

Thundershowers continue over parts of the north and the east of the country on Wednesday. 


Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern parts of the Namakwa district in the Northern Cape.


Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected over Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, the eastern parts of the Free State, as well as the extreme eastern parts of the North West.

Isolated light morning showers and light snow can be expected over the western half of the Eastern Cape, as well as light showers along the south of the escarpment, but scattered in the east.


Minimum temperatures will be cool to cold across the country, with Limpopo experiencing moderate morning conditions.

Sutherland in the Northern Cape will be one of the coldest places, dropping to a freezing 0°C.

Maximum temperatures remain cool across most of the country, with rising temperatures along the West Coast, the North West and Gauteng.

Alexander Bay in the Northern Cape is expected to be one of the hottest places, with a maximum of 34°C.

In Gauteng, Pretoria will reach a high of 25°C, while Johannesburg will reach a hit 24°C.

Bloemfontein will reach a high of 23°C.

Along the coast, Cape Town will reach a high of 26°C, while Port Elizabeth is expected to reach a high of 19°C, and Durban a high of 20°C.
