Weather Update: Warm weather for most of SA, cool in the west

Temperatures are expected to be warm in most parts of the country with cool conditions in western areas on Tuesday. 


Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the eastern part of the Central Karoo, the interior of the Northern Cape, the Free State, the North West, and the northern parts of the Eastern Cape.


Light rain has been predicted for the southwestern parts of the Western Cape in the late afternoon and evening.

The rest of the country remains dry.


Minimum temperatures are expected to be cold over the central parts of the country and the rest of the country is expecting moderate temperatures.

The coldest place will be Sutherland in the Northern Cape, dropping to a below-freezing -2°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to be warm for most parts of the country, with cold to cool conditions along the western parts of the country and hot temperatures in the upper northern regions.

The warmest places will be Phalaborwa and Lephalale in Limpopo, reaching a high of 34°C.

Pretoria is expected to reach a high of 30°C, while Johannesburg and Bloemfontein are both expecting a high of 28°C.

Along the coast, Cape Town is expected to reach a high of 17°C, while Port Elizabeth and Durban are both expecting a maximum of 26°C.
