Wednesday's weather: Cloudy and wet across most of SA

It will be cloudy but warm across most of the country, with isolated showers in most parts on Wednesday.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central and north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape, as well as the western parts of the North West, as provided by the South African Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to heat up along the coast.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be cloudy, with fog in places south of the escarpment in the morning. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm. It will become cloudy, with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in the north in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north easterly, becoming light to moderate easterly in the evening.

KwaZulu-Natal is expected to be cloudy, with morning rain along the coast and fog over the interior. It will become partly cloudy and warm but cool in the south-west. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected from the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be gentle to moderate easterly to north- easterly, becoming fresh over the south in the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn index will be moderate.
