Wednesday's weather: Icy temperatures linger as cold front passes over SA

A cold front will pass over the north-eastern parts of the country, bringing cold to very cold conditions for most of the country on Wednesday. It will be warm in places in the north.

Temperatures along the coast are expected to be cool to cold, according to the South African Weather Service.

Gauteng will be fine and warm, but cool in the south. The expected UVB sunburn index will be low.

Mpumalanga will be fine and cool to warm.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be partly cloudy and cool south of the escarpment. Light rain is expected in the Tsitsikamma area. Otherwise, it will be a fine day. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong.

It will be fine and cool, but cold in the south-western parts of KwaZulu-Natal. It will become cloudy in the east, with isolated showers and rain. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh. The expected UVB sunburn index will be moderate.
