Wednesday's weather: Sunny across most of SA

It will be sunny many parts of the country, but cloudy and partly cloudy over the east on Wednesday.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern and central parts of the Northern Cape, according to information provided by the South African Weather Service.

The weather in your region

It will be cloudy in Gauteng in the morning. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn index will be moderate.

Mpumalanga will be cloudy with morning fog patches and drizzle along the escarpment. It will become partly cloudy and cool late in the afternoon with isolated thunderstorms along the escarpment. It will be warm in the Lowveld.

It will be cloudy and warm but cool in places over the central parts of Limpopo. Morning drizzle and fog patches are expected along the escarpment. It will become partly cloudy from the afternoon.

The North West will be fine and hot. It will be partly cloudy and warm in the east.

It will be cloudy and cool in the north-eastern parts of the Free State at first. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm.

Morning fog patches are expected along the northern west coast of the Northern Cape, where it will be cloudy. It will become partly cloudy and cool, otherwise it will be fine and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly.

It will be fine and warm but hot over the interior of the Western Cape. It will become partly cloudy along the west and south-west coast by evening. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly. The expected UVB sunburn index will be very high.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be partly cloudy in places over the interior at first. Light rain is expected in the north in the morning. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong in the afternoon.

Morning fog is expected over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal. Otherwise, it will be cloudy and cool but warm in places in the east with rain and isolated showers. The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly to north-easterly, freshening from the south in the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn index will be moderate.
