Warm to hot weather can be expected across the country on Wednesday, with isolated showers and thundershowers over most parts.

Warm to hot weather is expected along the coast, according to information provided by the South African Weather Service.

The weather in your region

Gauteng will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers, except in the extreme south. The expected UVB sunburn index will be moderate.

It will be cloudy in the morning with fog patches in places over Mpumalanga. Drizzle is expected along the northern escarpment. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm with isolated thundershowers in places on the Highveld from the afternoon. It will be hot in the Lowveld.

It is expected to be cloudy along the escarpment of Limpopo, with morning drizzle and fog patches. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thundershowers in the south from the afternoon.

The North West is expected to be partly cloudy and warm to hot.

It will be partly cloudy and warm in the Free State.

The Northern Cape is expected to be cloudy with morning fog along the coast, where it will be cool. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated thundershowers are expected over the extreme northeast from the evening. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-easterly, becoming fresh to strong from the afternoon.

It will be cloudy and cool along the south and west coast of the Western Cape, where morning fog and mist is expected. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy to fine and warm. It will be cloudy along the south coast from the evening. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to south-westerly, but light to moderate along the west coast. The expected UVB sunburn index will be extreme.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be cloudy with mist in places over the south and southeast. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm, becoming cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east. The wind along the coast will be light westerly, becoming moderate south-westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal is expected to be partly cloudy at first. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the west and south. The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly to north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong in the afternoon. The expected UVB sunburn index will be high.
