Wednesday's weather: Warm to hot weather in the west with fire danger warning

It will be warm to hot over the western parts of South Africa on Wednesday, while cool weather is expected for the eastern half.

Extreme fire danger conditions are expected over the north-western parts of the Northern Cape, according to the South African Weather Service.

The weather in your region

It will be partly cloudy in Gauteng in the morning. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool. The expected UVB sunburn index will be high.

Mpumalanga will be partly cloudy with fog patches in places on the Highveld in the morning. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool to warm. It will remain partly cloudy in the Lowveld.

Limpopo will be partly cloudy in places in the morning, otherwise fine and cool to warm. It will remain partly cloudy in the Lowveld.

It will be partly cloudy in the eastern parts of the North West and the Free State in the morning. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool to warm.

The Northern Cape will be fine and cool to warm but hot to very hot along the West Coast. The wind along the coast will be fresh.

It will be hot in places over the western interior of the Western Cape. Otherwise, it will be fine and warm. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh. The expected UVB sunburn index will be moderate.

The Eastern Cape is expected to be foggy in places south of the escarpment in the morning. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be light.

Morning fog is expected over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and cool. It will become fine from the west in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be gentle to moderate. The expected UVB sunburn index will be moderate.
