Cape Town – A 42-year-old man was arrested in Worcester, Western Cape, when he reported a robbery of R17 000 while the money was still in his truck.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said the 42-year-old had been arrested on Thursday, when he reported that he had been robbed at gunpoint.
The man, however, when he gave confusing stories, which made officers suspicious.
After they searched the truck he was driving, the same amount of money he had reported stolen was found.
He was arrested for perjury and defeating the ends of justice and made a brief appearance in court on Friday, where the case was postponed to March 23.
