Pretoria – A woman has been arrested at the Cape Town International Airport in possession of 4kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of R1.2m, South African Revenue Service customs officials said on Tuesday.

"The incident happened when a customs official inspected the hand luggage of a... woman with chocolate containers in her bag," Sars said.

The woman failed to produce a receipt or proof of purchase.

Officials found that the containers were filled with 200 bullets of an unknown white substance which tested positive for cocaine.

The woman was handed over to the South African Police Services and was expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrate's Court on May 4.
