Cape Town – Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa has confirmed that a woman was killed after a MyCiti bus and a Corsa utility bakkie collided on the corner of the R27 and Ocean Way, Sunset Beach in Milnerton, Cape Town on Thursday evening.

She was declared dead at the scene.

The woman is believed to be in her 50s, and she was still in her vehicle when the paramedics arrived on the scene.

ER24 paramedics removed her from the car, and attempted to resuscitate her by performing CPR, but she succumbed to her injuries.

Although the exact circumstances surrounding the accident are not yet known, police were on the scene for further investigations, Africa said.

Attempts to reach the Milnerton police and ER24's Ineke van Huyssteen were unsuccessful.

MyCiti services were disrupted following the accident.
