Durban - A woman suffered smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at Blue Waters Hotel on Durban’s beach front on Sunday evening.

Rescue Care's operations director, Garrith Jamieson said paramedics responded and found the fire department and Metro Police already at the scene.

“The hotel was being evacuated when medics arrived, and the fire was quickly extinguished by the fire department,” he said.

“One lady who was on the fifth floor had sustained minor injuries and was stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that she required.”

Attempts to reach the hotel for comment were unsuccessful.
