Cape Town - A Kenilworth woman accused of planning to have her husband killed and who was previously released on bail, but then broke the bail conditions, is back behind bars.

Petina Coetzee, 44, handed herself in to the Lansdowne police on Saturday evening and was arrested, Netwerk24 reported.

This after the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday issued a warrant for her arrest as it was found she had broken her bail conditions.

Coetzee is charged with conspiracy to commit murder after allegedly paying two hitmen R200 000 to kill her husband, Austin Coetzee, 66.

One of her bail conditions is that she is not allowed to contact Austin directly or indirectly.

But on Thursday the court heard that she had spoken to him on December 2, just before she made an appearance in court.

He attended the proceedings that day.

In October Coetzee was granted R30 000 bail in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court, following her arrest the previous week.

She was arrested in a police sting in the parking lot at the Lansdowne railway station.
